Hi Keystoners,

After a brief hiatus due to facility availability difficulties…The November Meeting is on! Next Meeting is Wednesday, November 18, 7:00

The Western Center for Technical Studies is still undergoing major renovations. Hopefully they will be completed by the January meeting. Dave Souza, president emeritus of Keystone, has offered up his shop for the November meeting. Dave last hosted a summer meeting in 2007 where chainsaw techniques and forming hollow vessels were demonstrated. See address information below.

November Demo – Bob Rosand

Bob Rosand has been working with wood since he was a child, and has been turning for well over 20 years. He teaches, demonstrates and writes articles on woodturning. Since 1999, he has written several articles for the Journal of The American Association of Woodturners. Bob is a founding member of the AAW, served on the board for 6 years, and has been vice president. He has demonstrated for numerous local AAW chapters and at several national AAW symposiums. Bob is an excellent demonstrator and teacher. This is a meeting not to miss!  Check out Bob's work at http://www.rrosand.com/

Show and Tell

As always, we will have a show and tell. With all of the rainy weekends we’ve had, y'all should be turning up a storm. Bring what you have made and share with the group.

Gift Exchange moved to January Meeting

Because we did not have a September meeting, we are moving our gift exchange to January. We will pick a project for the gift exchange in the November meeting. Here’s how it works:

The club members decide on a gift project - last year it was a lidded box. Once the gift project is decided, members turn a piece to exchange with fellow members. They bring the piece in a brown paper lunch bag so nobody knows who brought what. If you bring a bag, you get to pick a bag. If you don’t, you’re out of luck, so plan on participating. Once someone picks your piece, you present the piece in a show & tell fashion. Always a lot of fun for everyone from beginners to old time turners

2010 dues are almost due. I guess that's why they are called due. $10 if you pay at the meeting.

Note – Dave lives next to a park, with a large parking lot. Please park in the lot, and walk along Jackson Rd to Dave’s house.
